Of course the kata must be of the correct kind to be effective. A good example of this is found in Karate, which descended from Kung Fu, and from which developed both Kenpo and Taekwondo.

Most arts are arranged with eight belt levels to black belt ranking, though a few junior belts are often added into the mix. Actually, this is too many levels, for students shouldn’t be slowed down, which is the effect of excessive ranking. I learned this when I began teaching matrixing, for people started learning at faster rates, which messed up the time necessary to teach martial arts systems.

The proper number of belts should be four. This would be the white belt, the green belt, the brown belt, and the black belt, which equates to beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert. Past that would be assistant instructors and instructors.

The white belt student should learn basic forms. This would be the equivalent of kebon kata, and these kata teach nothing but basic blocks, stances, punches, and kicks. Time for learning would be 3-6 months.

The green belt should learn Pinan 1-5 (Heian 1-5). This a good mix of intermediate forms, and one will find all manner of grab arts, different and odd ways of developing blocks, more advanced kicks, and so on. Time to learn would be about a year.

The brown belt should learn advanced forms depending on his size and shape. A large person might be suited to learn sanchin, seisan and sanseirui. A smaller, more nimble person might be better suited to learn umbe, botsai and the Iron Horse.

Time for brown to black would be 6 months, though, I have to admit, I often teach faster than that. I teach faster because I coordinate the number of techniques to the belts, and this gives a higher sense of reality to the form. The real key, however, is matrixing, for that subject tends to uncover all the hidden factors, and to arrange the techniques in a logical and much easier to learn format.

Whether you know matrixing or not, however, you should arrange your classes so that they are a couple of hours long, and you teach at least three times a week. One of the reasons martial arts schools have failed is because schools have become polite and ordered and there is no sense of urgency to learning. Quite seriously, your life could well depend on how fast you can get to a Martial Arts Black Belt.

Now that you are by yourself, it is a great idea to revive with your spouse. Spend some great time with your partner. You can go for a holiday to the exotic areas of the world. Spend time doing things you never did before, and viewing the areas of the world that you always wished to see. Have fun in sports, the spa and sightseeing while on the holiday. You may also wish to dine in and see movies frequently. A cruise will also be a superb choice to enjoy with your spouse or your fellows.

Beginning your career or changing it a little will also be a good idea to keep yourself occupied. You might find it necessary to upgrade your CV a little. Start entering a few classes or training courses regarding your field. You might wish to enhance your current career or begin a new one. Another great idea is to choose stay-at-home employments. They are the best way to stay occupied all day; and you will not mind the extra money entering the house!

Start giving time to yourself. Work on your eating habits and start gym classes. Yoga might also be another good alternative. You can enhance your overall look by getting a fresh haircut or a makeover. Upgrade your wardrobe and feel nice about yourself. You may also like to learn a talent you always wished to know. Be it cooking, photography, makeovers, or whatever. Spend time looking for your own likings and make them happen. You might feel a little lonely primarily. After all, it is not something you are used to. You will take time to bring your life back to the manner it was years ago. Just keep yourself occupied and you will find it easy to enjoy life. Many a times, your kids will come to see you. Surprise them by showing them how youthful you are at heart. Get to enjoy life and have fun!

I’d seen a poster discussing the most recent, distressing motion picture around. It showed a drill entering the mouth of a poor guy sitting in some type of torture chamber. Simply by seeing the scene on the poster it seemed really scary and hard to consider, would I dare to see the motion picture?… The response was “yes”. Lately, for whatever reason, I am in the mood of enjoying terrifying, bloody, movies. Maybe it is because lately Hollywood has been in the mood also, just count the number of terrifying movies have been established going back three years and you’ll realize they’ve been lots of, they have been… a lot.

Nevertheless coming back to Hostel; I decided to go and see how terrifying this “new scary” movie really was. The theater wasn’t totally full, but there was many more people than I had anticipated, somehow the film trailers had attracted a large audience. After a scene that seemed obtained from a deep hell’s dungeon with a dirty man cleaning the gray floors of the torture room, the start of the movie demonstrated a group of guys, two American students and a man from an Island inside some kind of club in Amsterdam, doing what most tourists do in that famous European port. After a couple of scenes in those clubs, such as the leaving behind of the sensual services from a stunning blond by one of the American guys, they arrive to their hostel simply to figure out the door is locked and they would have to wait outside until dawn to regain use of their room. But after an incident with the neighbors they find help along with a roof for their heads that night because of the good manners of a strange guy that invites them to his room. Again the scenes of drugs and sex can be found all around, I wonder if everything in Amsterdam is really sex and drugs, seriously I doubt it.

This strange guy has a secret he wants to tell his new friends. If they want to spend a really good time with the pleasure and excitement women can give they are in the wrong place, they ought to go East. There is a town in Eastern Europe where gorgeous women abound plus they are ready to spend their time and senses with you. Obviously he sparks the curiosity of these young men and they eagerly request directions. He carelessly gives them the address of a very special hostel, the place where they will discover all those amenities. Once morning arrives they are on the highway, let’s better say, on the rails.

These people travel by train as most Europeans do and everything goes fine except for an incident that introduces us to one of the main characters in the film. He is a businessman who travels in the same cabin and that unexpectedly happens to be heading to the same location they’re going. He is a man that seems to be in his sixties and he shows to the world a tranquil appearance; though there is something which causes the viewers to doubt his intentions. Specifically after a shameful incident that forces him to leave the cabin.

Some time afterwards our three adventurous guys have arrived at their desired destination. It is a common Eastern European small town packed with charming old houses and brick streets. As they approach the address they were given by that strange guy back in Amsterdam the expectation of the fun ahead lets them have the best of moods. Now they are inside the Hostel, they’re asked for their passports and then they are assigned to their room.

They discover the first surprise from the trip after they have moved into their room, they gladly realize they will be sharing the room with two beautiful ladies that appear to be completely alright standing unclothed in their presence. All appears to be according their expectations of the so highly recommended town. They spend the night at one of the clubs, go home with the ladies but suddenly, as an army of dark clouds on the horizon, everything that seemed so perfect starts to reconfigure into a type of a nightmare.

Oli, the guy from the Island, has disappeared without a trace after leaving with one woman they met in the club. Paxton and Josh prefer to believe he left without notice rather than thinking about something bad happening to him. They attempt to go back to the good times at the club with their girlfriends but things go wrong again. Josh starts feeling sickly and leaves the club. He barely makes it to the Hostel where they are waiting for him. Scene by scene we start to realize there something very wrong happening in that town. Specially when the head of Oli appears on screen that has a scene from the hell dungeon.

At this moment is Josh’s turn, he’ll meet with his friend from the train again, Jan Vlask. But now it will not be at the club surrounded by beautiful women. Now he will be his merciless torturer within the chambers of that horror land. The movie shows how Vlask satisfies his instincts and frustrated vocation as a surgeon by cutting Josh’s body at will with the movements and calm of the most vicious butcher.

Now there is only Paxton left; there is something in the drink he took and he has fallen asleep in the restroom in the club saving his life for that moment. Everything is confusing, everyone has left; even their girlfriends have left and no one knows about Josh. He visits the police but they just take the case nominally, later we’d discover they are also a slab in the horror chain of this savage town.

Walking on one of the streets Paxton passes by his ex-girlfriend who seems nothing like the nights before, she is changed and there are no more kisses. He asks her about his friends and after some thought she agrees to take him where they are. They take a taxi and follow a road that takes them to an old factory building that seems to be only ruins. But there’s something a lot more than ruins inside, the building is also a home of human misery.

There are men all around, some coming into others leaving, always protected by escorts. It is a gathering of multimillionaires for the most cruel of the games. Human hunting and torturing as a way of excitement and relaxation for the powerful. Paxton passes through the chambers where the most despicable acts are being performed; and suddenly he realizes he’s fallen into the trap. They’ve paid $50 grand for him, the price of an American man ready to be hunted.

Immediately after cutting off three fingers and being tortured by a sinister short and bald man. Paxton is able to escape thanks to the lack of skill of his torturer. However he would still have to evade all the guards surrounding the installation before he can be free….there are still many horrors ahead for Paxton… I will not tell you the end…you go and see it your self.
